Got Banned 4 A Stupid Prefix

Just to let everybody know,I put that "§co" prefix in my name that make your tag orange,and I got banned from a server (Black Watch UK) accused to be ceathing...quote:"...I'm gonna BAN his ass, if is running an orange tag it MUST be a cheater...."

You can tell a server is sad when you get banned for cheating without having the admin going into spec to see if its true

That tells you immediately that 1) the admin is not involved in any BF2 community where this topic has been covered and 2) he jumps to conclusions and kicks/bans for any reason at all.

He did you a favor. You know you won't be subjugated (sp?) to his tyranny any more.

Maybe the admin thinks that the tab above your head shows as orange on-screen?

I got an idea, shy away from gimmicky / colored tags.. :)

Reminds me of all the guys w/arabic in their tags in CS:S, as though they're stating "Look, I have crazy characters in my CSS name, my e-penis MUST be larger than yours!". They fall into the 'dont recruit if your life depends on it' category :p

In my opinion, using the color code to make your name orange makes you an attention whore. What other purpose would you have of using that code other than to divert attention to yourself.

The prefix system was put in place so you could assign yourself a prefix, specifically one that's a clan tag, so you don't have to make a new account each time your clan status changes. It was not created so you can find exploits in the system and color your name a different color.

I doesn't make you a better player, it won't make people respect you any more (most likely the opposite), and it just annoys other people, and worries server admins.

Usually anything that isnt normal is frowned on, in this case orange names.

My thoughts exactly. I think all servers should just set § as a banned character in names.

Hell, I'd use a black or grey nametag if I even bothered about that ability when I log in. Usually, I'm too hyped up to start the chaos to remember "oh yeah, I can do the nametag thi--OMG I'm logged in!" *death death death*

Good choice zagor. There is no point to putting that in your tag, other than to get attention, which makes you a target for your team and the other.
