X3 Reunion Any good?

I was thinking about getting this game, just for change of scenery and wondered if any of the BF2 community had tried it.

It got rave reviews in the PC Zone magazine.

I used to play "Freelancer" ages ago and "Elite" ages before that.
I am right in saying this X3 is the sime kind of gendre of game?

So if you can help, your comments would be appreciated.

I've played it now for like 19 hours and atleast i enjoy it :)
Just be prepaired for a steep learning curve.

cockery, the 2nd mission when you're in the turret. are there other turrets you can swap to on that ship?

nope. And i'm somehow stuck on the 4th mission where you have to do something in the ore belt. But i'm not playing the story too much anymore. The people on the forums say that it isn't anyway the right way to play the game, which is trading/smoggling and other nice stuff on the X-universe

bah. i kept getting creamed on the turret bit and so i've been spending all my time on the assassin game. doesnt help that i've got no idea wtf im meant to do or if im meant to find contracts or just kill ppl.

open ended is all good but a lil direction would help.
