Can sound/graphics be modified?

In Day of Defeat (and many other games), I like to change my sounds and model skins every now and then to spice up the game. Is this kind of thing possible in BF2?

I would like to change sounds/graphics and still be able to play on normal servers.

Not possible you cannot do this on any servers whether they are ranked or unranked, punkbuster or non punkbuster.

All content is verified upon launch and MD5 hashes and access dates are cross examined.

Aw, that sucks. One of my fav things about computer games (over console games) is that you can modify the game in small ways to add variety. I guess I'll just have to wait for full mods then, aye...
