    Survivle Help

I need help on surviving. I always seem to get screwed by a number of unfourtanate events. I have a bad record in my stats cuz of this and I'd like some tips on how to survive more and kill more at the same time. My average score is always 3-10, and thats not good. So u can just say im a noob looking for tips from the all-mighty-gods of Battlefield 2. Thanks in advance, and any help, about any issue or weapon, vehicol, C4, or anything will help alot.

We all learn how on our own. Just play for a month and if you STILL can't get it, then play more. There is nothing any of us can say to help you.

Stay back and fire from a distance.

Support is my personal favourite at the moment, managed a whole 50 kills the other day on a full 64 player server. Beat all the vehicles whores!

        Practise - Practise - Practise.
It is hard to suggest thing's to you with different performing PC's etc enabling people to play better and some play worse with lag etc.
If you just want the kills...use an armoured vehicle but be prepared to take criticism as whoring. Also, look out for AT personnel.
With Spec-Ops...you can Ambush vehicles. You know where there going to be driving...Wait for them, same with Mines on Engineer.
General stuff really that you common sense! Good Luck.

Here is what ultimately lead me to survive alot more.

Learn what kit/weapon is killing you the most. UAV is your best friend.
Remember you're more vulnerable in tight spaces or where people gather in large numbers (nades and artillery, also c4). Learn the common travel paths of enemies, then learn to flank them. Dont rush into battle!!! This is most important, take a few seconds to observe your surroundings. This may mean you catching an enemy off gaurd instead of him catching you.
Knowing your enemy means killing your enemy.

Two tips i can think of :

            Stay "outside"

Don't get in the middle of things. In other words, don't take the shortest route to the flag. Circle around keeping all the enemies in front of you. This oughta keep you alive at least long enough to get some practice at shooting lone enemies.

            Don't rush

As my friend (who has alot better K/D than me) said "Let them do the mistakes". If your enemy has already seen you, there's no point in running towards him guns blazing coz in that case he has the upper hand. If he's already prone and shooting at you, try to find cover and hide. Try to get into a situation where you are already prone and ready to shoot when he sees you.

Also, u can watch and learn from others. When you get wounded and the spawn screen appears, click somewhere on the map so that none of the spawn points is selected. Then wait for the 15 seconds to pass and close the spawn map by clicking the X in the upper right corner. Now press C to cycle through the players in your team and see how they play the game.

Well tactics on survival depends on what class you are. The key to survival is to think ahead. Think about the actions of your enemy and predict their movements.

Don't be Rambo and Safety in numbers. Those are the two best tips I think you can get (for being on foot).

Sit back, relax. . . learn how to fight at a distance, learn how to see everything. Stay in cover. Stay with medics. Don't advance unless you know what you are getting into.

My problem at first was rushing. . .always trying to get in to get kills so I could get some points. However, that only got me killed. When I learned to sit back and advance slowly using cover I started doing MUCH better.

Oh, one more thing, don't get frustrated. When I get mad, I rush more, which gets me killed more, which makes me more frustrated. . . it is a never ending cycle. Remember to relax and have fun, it is just a game, after all.

Get into a vehicle (as an engy) and don't rush the flags without infantry support. The AT weapon is not as good as the vehicle weapon at long range - use that to your advantage. Let the infantry take the flags while you provide the cover.

As infantry, don't rush the flags without help, it takes so long to turn a flag by yourself and all the while you are a sitting duck. Let the enemy come to you.

Play as spec ops - c4 a small flag zone and wait. Kill solo guys with your gun or grenades and get vehicles and squads with your c4.

Join a squad and stick together.

Learn to fly - the jets are only vulnerable to other jets and pilot error.

Snipers get the knife - always!

                      Re: Survivle Help

These are a lot of the basics of survival in BF2. Lots of good advice. Here are some of mine:

                      1. Cover is your best friend. Run from cover to cover using your sprint key. Once you're there, take a look around and check your radar if the UAV is up. It will point out enemy positions and maybe you can get the drop on them. Also, while you're behind cover, make sure all your weapons are reloaded. The tricky part about BF2 is that if you reload when your clip still has ammo in it, you lose that ammo. A clip is a clip, so you consume them whether they have 1 or 100 rounds in them.

                      2. Use your com rose. This is when you hold down Q and move the mouse to the appropriate statement and left click. You can spot enemies, call for backup, or even say thanks to someone. This can save you quite a bit of time from typing.

                      3. Burst fire will improve your accuracy and killing efficiency (more kills per bullet). Take single shots at range, lead your targets, and always move to a different firing spot once you take someone down.

                      4. Don't stay out in the open for too long. Not only are you asking for a sniper to get an easy kill, but you're also begging for an artillery strike on you. Whenever the situation presents itself, seek cover, especially if you can remain relatively hidden.

                      5. Get to know your kits. Special Forces have very powerful C4 to take out anything; Snipers have their rifle, camo, and claymores; Assault are well-armored and lug the grenade launchers; Medics are the only players that can heal and revive buddies; Engineers can repair equipment and lay down landmines; Support players can resupply ammo to teammates; Antitank kits are the only ones that carry rocket launchers.

                      6. Maybe consider getting very skilled at a vehicle. I, personally, enjoy the attack copters. Others are very good with jets, tanks, even jeeps. It's important to know how to use every vehicle, especially since one vehicle type varies from the enemy's variant. Know the strengths and weaknesses so you can exploit them.

                      7. JOIN A SQUAD and use the VOIP if you can. Talking to your team makes you 200% more combat effective. You aren't typing, and you need your com rose less. Plus, the more you work with other players, the more their tactics rub off on you.

                      8. Don't pick up the bad habits of other players. Listen to the commander, use your kit, help your team, and don't digress into screaming matches. If you get kicked/banned because someone thinks you're hacking, just leave and be glad that they did you the favor of not being subjected to their idiocy any longer.
