BF2 Freezes up on Weapons select.

Hi.

My BF2 on a Ranked server, Unranked server, PB server, Non-PB server, and Single player mode will lock up before I can select a weapon.

If im on someone elses server, I.e. Public server, I can still see the Messages going in the top left corner. If I ALT-Tab my CPU will tell me BF2 is running without a problem. If I unplug my internet I will be disconnected and sent back to the Server list screen saying "Connection to server Lost" and I can manuver around with my mouse again and everything is fine.

This never happends when I play BF42 or BF:FH. Or any of the other numerous games I play on my PC.

To get some of the obvious questions out of the way.

ALL DRIVERS ARE UP TO DATE...even the Motherboard.
Rig:
AMD 3500+
Nvidia BFG Tech 7800GTOC
2gigs of ram
250GB SATA Hard drive.

No Cooling is not the problem I have extra fans.
Going and deleting the file EA says to...and most people post as the End all to fix BF2 problems doesn't work.

Lets all think outside the box on this one and find out how we the consumers can fix yet another problem the 'GREAT' people at EA have caused for us.

Any Smart help is wanted.

Goto the Controls and hit "default" in the bottom left corner. Re-bind and save your custom key assignments.

simple forum search would have told you this.

However much I hate to say this...you were right...Some how all my controls got deleted!?!?! I don't know how or why or what happened? Any Ideas so I can prevent this in the futur?

Don't know how. I had that same problem in BF2 Demo.
