Another Auto-Balance Rant

I hate these stupid auto-balance servers!! I was just commander on a winning team. The game ended, and as soon as I hit the button to apply for commander the next game......I was moved to the other team! This is just about the dumbest thing I've ever seen. How could anyone possibly have thought that was a good idea?? Let's take the commander of the winning team, and put him on the loosing team........that'll even things out! In case you couldn't tell, we lost the game like 150 to 0.

i doubt the server cared that you were commander in the previous round, its 'automatic'

The 1.03 patch was supposed to sort this issue out but it never did.
The commander and any squads made in the game were/are not supposed to be autobalance, just those that play as rambos were to get switched on a full server to encorage the game play intended by EA.

Sheesh EA ball**d it up some what ay?

I almost hate to point it out, but if you were a really great commander, shouldn't that point spread have been lower?
I sometimes like being switched to the losing team just because it gives me a chance to really shine. The way I see it, is if everything else remains the same except that I've been switched to the team that lost the last round, and we do better, I'm making an impact. That's something worth crowing about.
Being on the team that's just gonna win means you're just along for the ride.

Er... Atually, they did fix the issue. No-one seems to remember being commander and getting team switched DURING a round! That is the issue they fixed. Believe me, it sucked.

Meh. Doesn't matter how good of a commander you are if your squad leaders are doing their own thing and ignoring you, or half the team is lonewolfing like a bunch of rejects.

Our server uses smart balance instead of the games auto-balance. It works a lot better and keeps the teams balanced a lot better.

I never have any problems with our server team switching me and here's why. We PAY to PLAY BF2, we have smart balance setup with our clan tags in it and it never ever swaps us ever!

I hear people whinging all the time why did the server swap them onto the other team. Some seem to think we actually do it on purpose. Its an automatic so called feature of BF2 to keep the teams balanced. Either you put up with it or you pay the big bucks like we do so it doesn't affect you.

Would you rather have auto-balance off so that the USMC side is always stacked heavily. I'm sure you wouldn't like it if you are on the opposite team.

What can I say but you get what you pay for!

Er... Dude, you might want tos stop posting that into every thread.
Sooner or later a mod is going to deside that it's "advertising" or spam.

Just add the details of your server to your sig.

Here is a solution: The second you hit "Join Game" for the next round, hit your Insert(or home, forget which one it was) button. It will create a squad for you. (So it doesn't switch you automatically), and THEN hit the "Apply" button. (The screen to apply should automatically be there when you hit Insert, too.)

I have not tried out this idea yet but if its a "locked Squad" will the team be able to be switched?

Might give it a go tonight after working.

Sure ya can, eagle.

The problem is that at the start of a round, you have to apply to be commander and if you were commander last round, you are a lone wolf at that point. This leaves you vunerable to being switched.

I don't see what the big deal is. . . I know I like to win too. . . but I also like to think that I helped us win. . . so if I get switched and we win, then this makes my ego nice and big. :)
