I don't have a standard monitor

I have an Apple Cinema and the resolution for it I use is 1680 x 1050.

I got it to work for C&C generals in the INI, but not for BF2

how can I do this?

BF2 doesn't support widescreen. Also why would you buy an Apple Cinema over a Dell 2405 fpw?

you can do the szy+ szx+ mod in the exe file but not sure how much you can turn it up do search on this mod ive only got a 19 lcd witch only goes to 1280x1024 maybe i should get my old one out and turn it up to 1600

In the shortcut for bf2, at the end of the target line, add +szx 1680 +szy 1050, and see if that works.

Yes it does. The game will display at that res, but the HUD will be stretched.

Go to your desktop BF2 shortcut, right click ,go down to properties .open properties you will see a line that says szy+ ect.i have ("C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024 ) havent changed it since 1.03 but as u see yours wont have 1280 or any figures written there (make sure your spaces are right)so make it look like that save and your ready .

But as ive only tried 1280(worked great never crashed best mod for bf2 b4 bf supported it) i have never tried more so do knowing this mod is unsupported but in theroy should work

Not sure about the Apple Cinema but the Dell 2405 widescreen has an aspect setting that will adjust your viewable screen to 4:3 (1600x1200) for in-game resolution then will auto swtich to back to 16:9 (1920x1200) for windows. You might look at your monitor's settings.
