I just bought Battlefield 2, installed the game with no problems. When i clicked on the desktop icon to start the game my screen went black, as it usually does when loading a game but then exited back to desktop. I didnt see the loading screen or any of the BF2 menu screens, all i saw was full black screen for no more than 2 seconds then my desktop. I also tried clicking on the multiplayer icon with the same result.
I did buy the game pre owned from Gamestation, the disc had no scratches and i never had an error message while installing. I upgraded my machine 4 weeks before buying the game, so i have correct hardware to run BF2. However i've been told my soundcard may not be suitable, i only thought it was graphics card, RAM and CPU that counted towards the game.
I have a C-Media sound card, which uses DirectX 9.0.C, Could this be the problem??
System Specs :
AMD Athlon XP 2800+
2.09 GHz
1.00 GB of RAM
Nvidia 6600 GT (AGP)
Im using windows XP professional with service pack 1, i have had problems with SP2, Should i try to get SP2 working then try again?
Thank you for all your help
