i have 33,000 pts and im a master sergeant but i have the requirements for the next rank at 20,000 pts First sergeant but it hasnt upgraded yet what is going on

You need the basic Class badges(medic, engineer, assault, etc). -

The search button is your friend, try using it.
If you don't have all of the basic badges BEFORE you hit 20K, then you go to master sgt, not 1st sgt. You have skipped over this promotion and won't be getting it...ever

i had all the badges before getting 20k way before hand and i know what the requirements are for it...and i tried using search and i got links for snipers??Comment

1st SGT is not the "next" rank, it's the same rank. If you didn't have all your badges before hitting 20,000, you were promoted to MSG instead and will not be promoted to 1stSGT. Look up you user nick on www.bf2s.com and at the bottom it shows what you next rank will be, and what requirements are needed for others.Comment

As stated, 1st Sgt is an advanced rank, you need the awards needed before youhit 20,000 points, otherwise you will be Master Sgt.
If you earn the missing awards after hitting Master Sgt you will not be promoted to 1st Sgt.
