Maybe I am doing something wrong in my server filter box but I have voice only servers checked. I connect to a server with the voice icon and .... TADA no voice/Mic working ..... This has been happening on so many servers so I have a question... Is this happening to anyone else? Its beginning to annoy me because when I connect to a server with a buddy of mine we have to hope theres mic support. Is this the servers falsely advertising? Has anyone found a way to find ONLY voice enabled servers where it actually works?? If so PLEASE help a fellow bf2 fiend out.

Re: Voice Comm.
If it has the headphone symbol in the BF2 browser then comms works. It probably a problem with your mic. Also you can only communicate with comms if you are in a squad, are you sure you were? -

Re: Voice Comm.
I think we need a sticky on the subject or something.
The majority of servers that list as having Battle Coms enabled, don't have them configured correctly. Technically, the system is working, but it's routing your voice into nowhere.
As long as you can test your mic in the audio options, it should be working fine. Bop around a bunch of different server until you find some that really have those coms hooked up.Comment

Re: Voice Comm.
easier to just use a public vent or teamspeak server then you can talk to eachother outside of game also when browsing servers etc ... also you can use voice ativation rather than having to press a key if you prefer thatComment

Re: Voice Comm.
The built in VoiP features are GREAT when they work.
Third party coms will never match the raw ability to communicate with people on a pub.Comment

Re: Voice Comm.
I love using Comms it adds a much better teambased feel to the game. But like Firelord said, make sure you are in a squad because you can only user Comms to talk to other squad members.Comment

Does anyone know why my VOIP works for the first 5min of playing, but doesnt later on? It's like it auto-shuts down my VOIP, btw, i have an onboard sound card, might that be the conflict?????Comment

Re: Voice Comm.
I was having a similar problem with my XP SP2 machine. When the VOIP drops out, alt-tab back to windows and double click the volume icon in the system tray. Make sure that your Mic hasn't suddenly been marked Mute. Not sure why mine was doing that, but it hasn't done it since I put 1.03 on.Originally posted by Magical PoopDoes anyone know why my VOIP works for the first 5min of playing, but doesnt later on? Re: Voice Comm.
yea, but also, once it doesnt work, i checked the sound options within BF2, and it didnt have the box, enable VOIP checked, and it doesnt allow u to change it back when ur ingame. But once disconnect, and checked the box again, it would just disable again within 5min, this is becoming a pain in the ass....Originally posted by CimaresI was having a similar problem with my XP SP2 machine. Re: Voice Comm.
I have been finding that at least more than half the times a sever has the headphone symbol theres no voice support. I really only want to connect to servers with voice because it adds to the teamwork and makes it more enjoyable. I have almost 450 hours of play time , im pretty sure i know to be in a squadOriginally posted by FireLordIf it has the headphone symbol in the BF2 browser then comms works. , also I have an xfi xtreme music and an altec ahs502I headset , both working beautifully. I think im gonna take that guys recommendation that I use teamspeak or a similar voice support program. Finding a voice "working" server Is so hard.

Re: Voice Comm.
I know exactly what you mean. I only have BattleComm servers enabled & we'll get in there & they dont' work. I have my headphones, etc working correctly.. the icon shows up when I speak, but low & behold, we can't hear each other. I've noticed more servers than not have this problem. What gives?

Sorry mate, didnt mean to sound patronising, it's just that a majority of players in a local internet cafe are always shouting that they cant hear their friend, when in actual fact its because they're not in a squad.Ty for the helpful input but I have almost 450 hours of play time , im pretty sure i know to be in a squad+ yes I love using Comms too.
Though, I have never had a problem with the BF2 voice comms and I use it nearly everytime I play. I may be just lucky that the 15 or so servers i usually play on don't have a prob.Comment
