"Vanilla" is used to describe anything it it's most basic form. Basicly, they are refering to BF2 out of the box with no mods.

Vanilla BF is, or any thing Vanilla is UNTOUCHED....other words, regular plain old Battlefield 2, non modded or anything... you can also say Vanilla 7800 GTX, meaning non over click or tweaked...

Not really with your example. Vanilla when referring to gfx cards usually means not a gt. Example; 6600 vanilla vs. a 6600GT, or 6800 vanilla vs. a 6800GT.
