Since they completed the civilian vehicals and put them into that mod, do you think they will put a few around a few BF2 maps?..... they should in my opinion.....they were so fun... added a bit more of variety..... I doubt they will... but if anyone knows anything........

Re: Civilian Vehicals with patch on SF release?
All it would take is the addition of a HUD....like 7 lines of code in the pickup truck and dumptruck .tweak file, and the things would work in vanilla BF2. That's ALL it takes to fix them...so I don't see why they shouldn't. Of course, it's EA, so they'll probably forbid anything we'd like. =/ (heh...the truck is the same one in SF too, with a .50cal PCO attached to it...sad huh?) -
Re: Civilian Vehicals with patch on SF release?
No no, in the BF2 vanilla code, there IS the pickup truck from SF without the machinegun, and also a dumptruck. I'm assuming he means add these in for those without SF, and it'd take a whole 30 minutes for a team of patchers to fix the HUDs (heck, copy and paste the humvee HUD code), create the object spawns in maps, and package it up again. There's also a little station-wagon like car, but it seems the model is just one solid piece and the wheels refuse to roll as no amount of tweaking I've done has gotten them to work yet. =/ I wouldn't be suprised if the civilian car is a little 4-seat stationwagon with a blue paintjob (and possibly 2 others).Originally posted by raceacontaridoubt it. Just like all the other expansion packs, if you want to use the new stuff, you're going to have to play on the new levels.Comment

Bah. I love the regular transport vehicles for many reasons other than bombings. Plus, it gives me something to drive when the rest of my team takes all of the vehicles and doesn't give anyone else a ride.Originally posted by Ghost-MOH-Civilian vehicles wouldn't be of much use. Unless for suicide bombings of course.Comment

Re: Civilian Vehicals with patch on SF release?
They would add another element to the game. I'm sure you don't have urban battles where vehicles are totally removed, and I'm sure a military force could find a way to hotwire one. I see no reason why they SHOULDN'T be included, as they are a perfectly valid form of transportation, and balanced out by their weak armor (or lack of thereof all together really :p )Originally posted by Ghost-MOH-Civilian vehicles wouldn't be of much use. Re: Civilian Vehicals with patch on SF release?
They should have a poll, who wants them and who doesn't. lol.... just so they have something to smack em in their faces.... [figure.of.speech] and then.... yeah... they should add them dammit >.< more content.... = good blah... dice sucks....Comment

Re: Civilian Vehicals with patch on SF release?
But normally people in the military won't shoot civilian targets, and it would be quite easy to just wheel up and BOOM! Since their aren't any civilian targets in bf2, and how bf2 players tend to shoot anything that moves, you're basically a target on wheels. At least the normal transport has a mounted mg on it for defense against infantry.Originally posted by iewgnemyes, with the civilian cars in, that car bomb suddenly become very realistic

Re: Civilian Vehicals with patch on SF release?
Not quite what I was expecting, looks like a much more refined version of the model that's in BF2. It does fit the general shape and specifications of the one in BF2 though, so guess they just touched up the model and reskinned it. :pOriginally posted by SlimShady17Comment
