BF2 punkbuster issues

I can play all punkbuster off servers but when I use punkbuster, i will get into a game for a few seconds and then it kicks me out saying that I have no packet loss. Then I cant get back in. I never get this when I play non punkbuster servers. I own my own copy and everything is legit. Any helps?

Is is a port on my router or something?

Desperate to play online with my friends.

I think you mean 'no packet flow'.

I have never had to forward any port or anything with PB...so try updating punkbuster by downloading and running their update utility:

http://websec.evenbalance.com/downloads/windows/pbsetup.exe

ALSO...turn off any and all software firewalls, including Windows XP Firewall

i updated PB and now i disconnected because wrong O/S something or other.

Man i am getting to hate PB real bad.

Any more help?

Run the PB update from within the PB folder.

Run it 5 or 6 times. Over and over...it will say its finished...run it again.

I've reinstalled BF2 2x now iand do this after every reinstall.

Same problem I had a few days ago. I installed BF2 on a new OS and was getting the same error message from PB. Updated PB using PBSetup.exe and nothing - still getting kicked after a few minutes.

Downloaded the OLD PBWEB.EXE from another site (because apparently, PB doesn't use it anymore as it's the "older" method of updating PB) and problem solved!

This problem it due to 2 fact:

1) you are maybe running in LUA (Lmited user account)

OR

2) You've got infected by a spyware/malware which remove your administrator right to avoid to be uninstalled. Since punkbuster need administrator right it kick you

If you do have access an admin account, you can right click on the application you want to run and select "Run As". This will allow you to give admin access to that program and should allow you to play with a limited user. "

I keep getting kicked by PunkBuster for "Insufficient O/S Privileges"?

Download and run this file from any location, it will check for adware that stops you from being able to play on PB servers. The VX2 adware edits your user rights when it infects your computer, and many programs do not repair this when they remove it.

Click the "Find VX2.betterinternet info" button to make sure that you don't have this adware. If there are no files listed, go on to the last step. If you find the adware files, (it is usually 3 random named dll files) Select all the files found.

Press 'Delete These Files'. The program will delete all files but one that will be deleted on reboot. Allow program to reboot. Once Restarted:

* Press 'Guardian.reg'.
* Press 'User Agent'.
* Press 'Restore Policy'.

Clicking on "find vx2.BetterInternet info" again should show all fields blank.
If you have no adware files, just click on the "Restore Policy" Button

I had this problem and pdupdate just sucks for me. it broke the game.
I reinstalled the game and deleted the games folder after the uninstallation. Then I reinstalled the game and updated pb manually without the automatic update utility. Now it works for me!

To update pb manually you need to go to punkbuster.com and get the updated files along with the manual update instructions. You should update manualy before starting the game or pb will kick you again if it fails to update.
