I dunno about you guy's but i got an email about bf2 special forces download

Ea offers users a very special service. You can buy the game, and download it now!

Ofcourse, you cant play untill 22 november, when it officially launches.

i wonder if its wiser to wait for the good old disc.

I have had bad experiences with similar services. I recommend only purchashing a copy with a disc. If redownloading something for re-install is something you may enjoy by all means do go with the virtual copy.

You mean backup onto DVD.

Like the official DVD of the game that you can buy for the same price & on the same day as when the download is available and have a pretty box to sit on your shelf?

There is no benefit whatsoever in downloading the game rather then having the disk.

If you buy from Play.com they delver a day before release so you could be playing even before the download is available!!

**EDIT: When I say that there is no benefit, of course I mean a benefit to YOU. At least when Valve did this they offered flexibility in the product you were able to buy & flexed the price to suit. AND offered one of their games early.

hmm very true

downloading can take u 7 hours while going to the store and getting it can take 2 + u get a nice box and such

Downloaded (2 hours) and waiting to get released... when it does back it up and print your own box if ya want. I liked it when HL2 came out and im quite happy with the way that went... no hassle.

And now we wait...

I just downloaded it with the EA downloader and it says that it is not released until 11-25-05. There is even a clock counting down on the EA Downloader.

Why would you download something you cant use? Much better to keep the money and buy it when it's in some way useful.

I think that they should let us also download it even though we pre-purchased a disk. Just my 2 cents!
