From the people at Dice, the makers of the succesful "Battlefield" game series, comes a new idea that is revolutionary in itself, Battlefield: Harlem. "BFH" will be the latest addition to the long-running Battlefield game series, which includes Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam, and Battlefield 2.
Battlefield: Harlem will be one of a kind, a new and ambitious idea that has never been tried in the FPS world before. The game takes place in modern day Harlem, New York. An area full of violence and conflict, a lawless area that has managed to survive in the so called "Saftey" of the US. Players will be able to play as members of "Gangs", instead of the traditional "Army" layout most other FPS's have. Dice has not fully disclosed all the different "Gangs" that will be availiable, but a few were revealed to us in an exclusive interview, among the choices for gangs wil be groups such as the "Crips" and the "Bloods", as well as the "West Side Boyz", and the "Craka Honkey Killa Force". Each gang will hae its own uniform, usually comprised of bandannas, and pants that are worn off of the buttox.
Within each army there will be several classes of "Gangsta" to choose from. This is very similar to the rest of the Battlefield line, with previous games containing classes such as Infantryman or Anti-Tank. However the Harlem edition will feature all new classes such as:
-Drug Dealer
Has the ability to heal teammates with an array of illegal drugs.
-Pimp
Has the ability to distract enemy players with his "Hoes".
-Azzult
Basic soldier, armed with a "Gat", and crack grenades.
-Snizziper
Armed with a high-power Colt pistol with binocluars taped to the top.
-Cold Killa
Support gunner, armed with a Uzi that will inevitably be held sideways.
-Car Mechanic
Has the ability to fix vehicles, however is often late and lazy.
The optimistic Dice is exited about their new game. A large medium of gamers have voted positive for the game over Internet polls on the Dice website. In addition the the new classes, dice has also added the new "Drug Lord" feature to the game, which is quite similar to the "Commander" feature of Battlefield 2. The "Drug Lord" can oversee the battlefield, and give orders to his troops, as well as drop supplies, and call in the cops, similar to calling in "Artillary" in BF2, however 10x more effective (You know how cops dont like black people). In addition, the Drug Lord also has the ability to see enemies, and spot them out to his teammates.
New classes and positions isnt all dice has put into this new game, they have also worked on a host of new Weapons. Through real-world research, they were able to complile an accurate collection of weapons actually used by Gangsters. Such as:
-Gat
Colt .45 pistol, effective when shooting up "Niggaz"
-Snipur Rifel
Similar to the Gat, it is a Colt .45 with binoculars taped on the top.
-Street Sweeper
20+ year old Uzi, used for support, and waving around whilst holding crotch.
-Covert Weapon
Slingshot; quiet and effective, never-ending supply of ammo.
-Ninez
9mm Luger pistol, used for close combat, such as robbing stores.
-Anti Airplain
Rocks and laser lights, used to take down enemy aircraft. 100x more effective than the "AA" system in BF2.
Not only has Dice added new weapons to its list of improvements, it also has a totally new vehicle system. Again, Dice turned to real world research to compile an accurate representation of modern Harlem. Some new vehicles include:
-Bently
Large, bulky armored car, can fit 4-20 people depending on race.
-Caddy
Medium transport, often equipped with hydraulics for evasive action.
-Aerohplain
Small 1950s era Cessna, armed with rocks, and Marajuana for distraction.
-Chevy Truck
Equivalent to a tank, heavily armored, with gunner in rear. Equipped with large speaker from which loud rap is played.
Everyone in the FPS world is very excited for the release of this new game, and Dice is on it's way to delivering it. Keep updaed on Dice's site for updates on the game. The scheduled release date is December the 4th.
