I don't like steam, and this. I don't like downloading a game for money, because of the chances of data loss and stuff. if its on cd i know its there and safe.

yeah, but i can take good care of my cds, and pretty much garantee that they stay in one piece - with data, i don't have any control if my HD decides to snuff it.

I live in my University so it ain't easy for me to go out and buy games. The thing about the preload is that this suggests that SF is complete now.

Purchase and pre-load the game today. You’ll be one of the first to play on release day, November 22 at 1pm EST.

To those who worry about computer crash/data loss/corruption etc. with 'downloaded' type games, it actually isn't a problem. If it's like Steam, for example, buying the game means it's always 'on' your account, and you can download it as many times as you want/need. So even if your computer crashes, you get a virus, whatever, you'll never 'lose' the game. :) (whereas if a CD gets scratched/broken/lost, that's it, no more game!)

Having said that, EA's thingy here might not be the same, might just be a one-off download (which would be stupid).

I'd also like to add that I'm not a big fan of these downloaded games thingies...I've seen steam in action on a mate's computer, terrible...has to download tons of stuff all the time. I prefer DVDs! :)

I'm undecided about BF2:SF. Despite the problems, bugs, silliness in general with BF2, I do have 110+ hours clocked playing MP and quite a lot in SP (when I had no 'net). So I clearly do enjoy it, and it is a fun game. So I might just get the expansion anyway...not adding much, but perhaps with less airpower and the potential to sneak around in the dark and mess about with grappling hooks and so on, and some extra maps/guns to liven things up...hey', it's only £15. Then again, I'm not too keen to send a message to EA that such a poor state of affairs is allowable and that I'll throw money at them anyway.

its probably full of trojans virus and god knows what other hacking tools,i wouldnt d/l it probably isnt safe
