hah, I went up to about 2000 ft. You have to let the plane fall for a few seconds or else you will die if you jump out too early. And I used FRAPS.

It's possible to go way higher than 2000ft. Once you hit 20000ft everything becomes instantly silent, and your engines are still on full blast.
