anyone know how squad leader is assigned?

If the leader drops, what determines who the new leader is? Its not rank or length of time in squad. Its also not alphabetical, though I havent tested reverse alphabetical. Surely its not random cause it will often continually go to the same person in a round.

Is it possible to assign someone to be leader?

by 2nd to join to you mean the 3rd member of the squad? cause that makes since with what I have seen. If you mean 2nd member since the first person creates, doesnt join, than Id have to disagree.

could be reverse alphabetical. maybe even by kills, or teamscore or something. it could be anything.

I thought it was whoever was highest on the squad list on the squad screen..but maybe everybody's squad screen looks different.

I don't think it's by chronological squad joining order. I was on Karkand once and I joined a 5 man squad and nobody left but then the squad leader left and I was made squad leader.

Either it's random or done by rank.

That's what the manual says. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was wrong.

I read somewhere that it was based off the next highest rank. and if the ranks were even...then...I dont know, best score? lol

Notice how when looking at squads it shows the highest score at top so when the SL leaves the next highest or highest(depending on SL score) should get it.

not sure, but if ea was smart they probally did it by teamwork points.. cause after all a squad leader should be a teamworker

sometimes when i join a squad it automatically puts me as squad leader, regardless of how many people are in the squad and how many points they have, not sure why.
