Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
It really annoyes me when the commander doesn't do the job right. Or if your a squad leader and they don't listen to your requests.
If I am a commander I always try my best to listen for requests and help keep the artillary coming.
I agree. I'm just new to commanding myself, but read the FAQ on this site first (tried to find it again, couldnt), I announce when arty/uav is available, and squads are more likely to request it when they need it then.
Also, I got 42 command points in a round last night, but no command badge??? It was on a ranked server, so I suspect that there might be a minimum time requirement for that badge as well. UBAR says that only 40 command points are required...
How do you inform squad leaders that UAV is ready? When I've been playing as a SL I occasionally get a radio mesage informing me that UAV or supplt drop is available. Does this message come automatically or is the commander required to do something?
Select the squads in the commander interface (when a squad is selected it is highlighted in white) and right click and you get a list of commands that you can tell the squads, such as UAV, ART, & Supplies available.
Agreed. As a side note, as a commander, I find it *extremely* irritating when a squad leader refuses to follow any orders. Even something nice and tactical, that makes sense, before even looking at the order they give a 'Negative.' It's too bad because now I just don't give out orders at all. As a commander, I always accept squad leader requests, even if they're trivial- Just out of courtesy and to make the game more fun. And, as a squad leader, I accept whatever the commander gives me even if it is stupid.

This falls into the xfactor of "commander actions" I always ask each SL before deploying supplies or Arty. I believe that spotting, resupply take precedence over Arty. One thing I try and do is watch for Armor engagements and supply drop my armor, giving almost 90% positive outcome to the fire fight.
I also only command squads to move to another location if they are close not all the way across the map like some commdrons.
Most importantly don't plane whore while commanding, its impossible to do either well.
Hello to all,
I noticed too that when I'm commander, at the beginning nothing form squads because they don't trust you, but once a time they begin to see that you're quite efficient, they begin to form squads but sometimes it's too late when everybody is on a squad ready to be invulnerable it's the end ! ... Such a pity.
Anyway, I enjoy when squads leaders plays the game, BF2 is so wonderful !
BZ.
Huge pet peeve as well....matches are won/lost based off of a good commander...
I put in about 200 hrs as SL or SM and hardly commanded, but as of late I've been on a tear doing it. Soooo many times have I watched the MEC team get ran on Karkand 'cause of a poor commander...I've gotten into it and usually can pull out a win on that map.
The commander needs to protect the rear flags - C4 the flag that spawns ur armor, then go hide. SPOT ffs, SPOT the squads heading down the train tracks and to the suburbs, once those spots are taken your team is cut in half and its only a matter of time. I'n a non-voip server I'll spam spotted on someone trying to swim to the rear flags, usually it'll get someone's attention and they'll take them out..
But yes, trust is a big issue with this.... If you do your job right, you'll have no need for being active on the battlefield. UAV can be dropped almost as quick as it expires. I use my scans to help out squads that aren't near the UAV and are defending/taking a flag - spotting is the commander's #1 tool.
Right clicking and telling squads that supplies or arty are available works well too...if I do that, a squad will almost always request one of them.
I do this to help out.
1) I scan and continuelsy bomb the S**t out of the enemy where ever they are grouped.
2) I respond to supply request as soon as possable.
this to me is important as a commander.
I also like to own the airfields as it denys the enemey airpower.
