How to lower ping???

Cause whenever i play on servers, THAI servers usually my ping is like 250 at BEST. i ALWAYS get kicked out for high ping most of the time and its really annoying cause i think i deserve a place to play in because ive paid for this game. how do i lower my ping as much as possible? i live in the philippines and we dont have a local server. gay. any program sthat i should close down to stop the strain on my internet connection?

i'd also like to add that these THAI servers are very popular, making them full 24/7. its a pain to try to connect.

look in your manaul, taht tells you some good pointers to lower your ping but another way is do not have background programs liek X-fire, MSN etc.. if you're getting low ping also turn down your graphics, i did and i went from 85 to 25

I know it helped in Counter-Strike. Haven't had the graphics card powerful enough to fully test this.

What is the ping to the server if you type ping *BF2 server address* in a DOS window?

Is it the same once you have closed down all programs that you don't need running?

Download and Install All Seeing Eye and find out where are the servers with the best ping for you.

This should not affect your ping. From what i understand of the MP games, no graphical data is sent, only positions, units... etc etc.. The graphics are local, on ur pc, that is why, even if you get an "your connection has been interupted" message, you can still see that map and things moving. But someong plz correct me if im wrong, as i wanna lower mine too.

phillipines huh? try play on the eatw servers coz taiwan and philipines are pretty close, or u can at least get 8mb internet connection

1. What kind of internet connection do you have? Speed, type, ISP etc.

2. Ping the server in a DOS console like someone suggested.
This will tell you if your connection is too slow or if the game itself is causing your high ping.

when i search for servers i dont see any taiwan servers. ill try all seing eye. do i google that?

ok i got all seeing eye and it shows me like 2 servers with below 100 ping this is great. but i only have the trial version cause the full version requires payment. will i eventually have to pay will my trial end?

No, you don't have to pay for All Seeing Eye, you just get a reminder to buy it message every 7 days.

There's a small modification to do to ASE so that it works with BF2

thanks for that link. i changed all that stuff to my account name and my password and then i saved it however whenever i click to join a server it still opens BF2 and asks for me to log in. what did i do wrong?

I use BF2Autoloader to connect. It's freeware, easy to use and has pretty much the same filters as ASE. Give it a try also.
