Did you re-enter it using CD-Key?

      Go into regedit.exe

      look at
      [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2\ergc]

Is the key in there 20 letters long or is much longer??

Right-click where the key is and select edit, and delete the cd-key. Don't delete the entire ERGC 'folder'.

Then go into the folder where battlefield 2 is installed and into the SUPPORT folder. Then run Battlefield 2_code.exe.
After you have entered the cd-key in Battlefield 2_code.exe and pressed next, look in the registry setting again, now there should be the key, but it isn't encrypted.
      Then run bf2cdkeycheck.exe.
How to find it is also explained in your older thread.
Open patch 1.03, press next select language and press next. Then STOP and do nothing more, don't cancel patch or anything else. Now open My Computer, press F3 (search) search for bf2cdkeycheck.exe. When found copy it to your desktop, double-click bf2cdkeycheck.exe, and it opens shortly and exits. Now look in the registry the 20 letter key has now changed it is now encrypted. You may now cancel the patch installer.

Make sure the same Windows account you use for doing this is the one you game from AND that it is an ADMINISTRATOR account, or else you might not be able to write to the registry. If you use other admin account than the one you play with, you get invalid key even if it is encrypted.

If you follow these instructions carefully, it should work.
