well, have you tried reinstalling, in the process deleting your registry keys and stuff like that?

well once you uninstall, oh i ment to say registry keys sorry, so go into your regedit and delete the cd keys related to bf2

Do all of that. Re-install from original disc and apply only the v1.03 patch.

I have a custom built computer

I have tried uninstallin bf2 and then redownlodin the patch(from many differnets places) I try to installl patch and it always says patching fialed. The error message says patching failed

Well i just did that like 10 min. ago and then im goin to reinstall and stuff i i will post wat happens later

The MANUAL part is usually key for most people. Deleting the reg keys and the files in My Documents usually fixes it.

I hope it does for you as well.

crazydog3, when someone asks you "'so what is your custom built computer?" they probably want to know what kind of a computer you have.

Had the same problem with the first 1.03 patch I downloaded.
I appearently got a corrupt version of the file since the second version I got from a different server (EA officialftp://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/patches/bf2_patch_103.exe) worked fine. The faulty executable just didn't do anything except of showing the hourglass for a few seconds then disappearing... :hmm:
