'chute surfing

Anyone experienced this before?

A teammate jumps off a tall building before you and opens his chute. You jump down directly after him and land on top of the chute and ride it down.

I did it on accident this morning, and had my squad cracking up. We both jumped off the top of the hotel on Mashtuur City (got up there via a BH)... he went right before me and I landed on his chute before I could open mine. I just crouched there on it and rode it all the way down without injury, and without having to open my own chute.

No, you don't have to be in an FF off server. This works just fine on Ranked servers.

The thing is, the chute is an object like any other in the game. There's no code in there to collapse the chute if it's struck by a player object... so it's ridged.
For extra stupid fun, try getting a bunch of buddies together and se how many people you can get onto one chute! We managed to get 3 riding on the same bit 'o silk... 4 if you count the guy who popped the cord. Unfortunatly, we didn't get any good screens.

I have got to try this next time I am chuting off of somewhere with someone else in front of me...my luck, I would miss the chute altogether, be ****ed that I did, and forget to pull my own...LOL
