Bandwidth Requirements

What do you think is sufficient enough bandwidth to play BF2 on a server?

I have 256 but plant on getting 512 Kbps. I know many people's cable and dsl is well over 1 Mbps but not here where I live. I pay over $90 for this ****y cable. But I want to play online, so what do you recommend? Is 512 enough? I live in Central America, Honduras to be exact. It's just a 2.5 hour plane ride form Houston, you so can get oriented.

Thank you I wouold appreciate any help. Also I'm a noob at playing online games, so whats more optimum, a high or low ping?

You want a low ping (as close to 0 as possible). The ping really depends on several things, but mostly how close you are physically to the server you are playing on. If there are good local servers in your area than you should be fine with 256kbps. More distance, the faster the connection you want. It also matters if there are others using your cable line.
