depends. Sometimes I hate it and use the SAW for its accuracy, other times I go with it because it has power. Lets just say this though. One time I had my PKM and was running towards an enemy point. 3 guys came running around the corner about 200 feet away, they all saw me and I saw them. I went prone and just went full auto, i know you are supposed to do bursts but...well 3 guys against me, kind of was screwed. But...I got all 3 of them, thanks to the PKM. So...is it worth it?...depends on what the other choices of unlocks you have, and also depends on if you play support a lot

I dont like it! I couldn't hit the USS Essex with it let alone an enemy soldier.
Others swear by it! If you play support you might as well give it a try.

Yes it's definitly not known for its accuracy. The MEC's support gun and the PKM have the same accuracy rating, only the pkm is more powerful. The sights on the pkm you have to get used to...you have to aim lower than what you are aiming at...but that seems to be the case with a lot of the guns i have noticed

depends on how much u play the class...... It was my 2nd unlock, and after getting used to it (and that takes a bit), I was extremely happy with it over the standard guns. Great damage and decent accuracy, even at range (as long as its in 1-3 round bursts).

Plus ammo points > medic or repair points.

If you wanna rack up big team point numbers, the ammo bag will get u there :)

Ammo bags vrs heal kits act like this, instant insted of med 2 second wait, as little has 1 clip used vrs 100% heal with med, and the fact you have 2 more at start to use (or 1 not sure).

The pkm is awsome. I went 40,000 points without playing support more then 20 minutes since I dislike the guns to playing it almost exclusivly in pubs. It has massive power behind it and owns at urban maps. You can full auto at someone 200 meters away and only land 2 shots outta 25 but still get the kill pretty damn fast.

On Sharqi Peninsula, I've used this to shoot down snipers who were positioned above me on the TV Station tower (It can hit targets far away -- you just have to learn how to aim it).

I'm wondering if the PKM will carry over to the expansion as an unlock when we start getting access to tear gas.

As you can see, the accuracy of the PKM vs the SAW is very close. About the only big differance is that the PKM has a much lower maximum deviation per shot, allowing you to go full auto for longer without lossing it's effectivness. It's also worth noting that since the PKM has a lower rate of fire, thoe penalties build more slowly as well.

I've also seen it argued that the SAW does more damage per minute, but that's also wrong:
SAW 900 rounds per minute X 25 = 22500
PKM 600 rounds per minute X 45 = 27000

Finally, something that isn't mentioned in the stats, but is worth thinking about is that the PKM has better penatration than the SAW. I've used my trusty PKM to cut down people on the other side of fences/walls more times than I care to confess.
