    I did search but.......

    Is there a way to delete my clantag from my originally registered name, or do I have to start from scratch with my new name?

      It is just the prefix you want to remove right? If it is part of your nick then you can't.

      If it is just the prefix, then type something else in the prefix area, then delete it and then connect and it is gone.
      Alternatively edit the Global.con file in your Profile dir in ..\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\ with notepad.
