    magnet on helicopters.

I was wondering if it would be possible to make a mod that puts magnets on helicopters so they could pick up vehicles, like in Mercenaries.

Well they had the heli-cable in BFV, so it should be possible with the code.

(I do kinda miss bowling down tanks with my heli/jeep)

no but it should be possible to code it in given that the game engine can probably support it.

Once again its almost certainly not possible. You must remember that 99% of whats possible in the BF2 engine is hardcoded in. The BFV engine was an extension of the BF42 engine and was created by Dice Canada whereas BF42 was made by Dice Sweden. Dice Sweden looked at the game, decided they didnt need heli lifting and didnt include it in the game.

the code is pretty easily scriptable, I'm sure someone could probably figure it out.

i can do it it would take time and a lot of hard work but it would only affect my game like if i got in a heli only i could do it

so i think it wouldnt be worth it

but ya mercaneries is a koo game

Explain how you'd do it then. I can easily code a vehicle that holds another vehicle but it wouldnt be able to pick it backup again.

It would also be cool if someone got the cranes to work

Bah, the game is new, all these optimistic people are coming. Lets let them figure out they can't do it, maybe they will find something we didn't. Who knows what we might have had if someone told TurdBurglar that helicopter physics wouldn't be possible in bf1942, and he had accepted it?

The fact that almost all of the great things are hard coded make, making it harder then hacking into NASA. If someone can get into the hard coded area then the abilitys are endless. Until someone can get past that, no matter how long this process goes on... It just wont happen like ti should.

Holy shazbot that was a long time ago... I remember that. That was an exciting time during the history of BF2 Modding.
