Guilty Conscience???

Is it just me or do some of the players on BF2 have no manners
or for that matter even a guilty conscience???

I just been online for about 8 rounds and forgave every TK that happened to me. Only about 40% of them said sorry for the TK.

Am i asking to much for people to be Courtious in a game?

Dont get me wrong i TK accidently all the time (and get punished) but always say sorry regardless.

Your thoughts please.....

Well since 99% of those tks probably came from planes/artillery/car-running over, its kind of annoying to stop and press the sorry button, especially if youre flying

Sometimes, I don't even see that I have t'ked someone, so I don't get to say it. When I do see it, and I caused it by my own screw up, I will always say it.

Same goes the other way, if I get t'ked, I always forgive unless I am positive it was on purpose or through total disregard to the team by that player.

Like steel said, I rarely even see that I have tk'd soemone unles it was right in front of me, quite often I hit the tab button halfway through a round and see a minus teamwork score and then say "wtf? when did that happen?"

Yeah, it annoys the crap out of me when they don't say sorry, especially after I forgive them. If I run over their mines I don't expect such a thing, but if it's at all their fault, intentional or not, they should apologize.

Whenever I get Tk'ed, I always wait for the person who TK'ed me to say sorry, if he/she doesn't in about 15 seconds, then I punish.

If I was commander before the artillery patch, I would warn my team that I was sending artillery, as if the big red artillery icon on the map wasn't a giveaway. Anyone who was TK'd from the arty and punished me, the rest of the team knew he was full of it. As for things like jet kills or AA misfires, those just can't be avoided. That's DICE's fault for not programming properly, but we still get guys that dive in front of your vehicle or strap C4 to "their" helicopter.

You can't go into a public server with a guilty conscious when most of the players go in with an empty head.

I almost always forgive for a tk, and no, it's not hard to do if you're driving really. It's just a matter of holding Q and swinging the mouse real quick. They usually still punish, though. Evil community.

When I'm playing horribly and I'm frustrated and some douche runs me over or something, sometimes it's just satisfying to punish. There's probably other people like that out there, haha.

Yes you are totally right with your assumptions. Yes, people have no conscience in bf2 (or life for that matter!), never say sorry for tking - many actively enjoy it! Just all part of a day in the life of bf2. Just play on, enjoy yourself and be thankful when a like-minded player does st courteous and out of the ordinary. There'll be precious few moments like this though!!! It is waar after all!!!!!

Of course people don't have a guilty conscience or manners. Otherwise you'd see this thing called common sense exercised in game. It's not about anyone else but the player for 99.999% of people you encounter in the game, and no they don't care that you're there or that you are on their team, sadly. Pre 1.03 I had the joy of having one of the people who used the BH >ONLY< for points to join my squad, and when our pilot (whom was on ventrilo with me) was doing evasive maneuvers to get away from AA fire and some light vehicles, the guy starts cussing up a storm telling our pilot to go cap flags instead of fly around like "an idiot" and "get him some points." It wasn't about dodging the gunfire to save the squad, it wasn't about us supporting the team's advance in te Blackhawk, it was all about him joining our squad to get points. Sad, but true.

And DrunkenPirate, I hear ya. It's like "wtf, I should have 10 more teamwork points!" but I think that's more of a problem with the game and the way it's implemented, never got that in 1942. You KNEW when you TK'ed and had a darn good reason, not some obscure way for the engine saying "hey, you damaged this person .001% and I'm punishing you because I"m a game and I'm told to do so." I do hate when that happens though, I normally get my random point deductions from faulty AA or TV guided rockets that just so happen to like teammates better than the enemy.

The most annoying to me are people who punish for walking over my claymores...

I still try to say sorry whenever i realize i TK someone, or thank you for a medic or a support person. "How common is common sense?"

Don't forgive any of them! It helps them learn and makes you feel better inside. Trust me on this one. You are asking way too much for courtesy, it's the internet and an online game!

no matter what I"m doing... flying, driving, right in the middle of a fire fight... I -ALWAYS- immediately stop what I"m doing and hit SORRY or type SORY before I continue. Just as a courtesy... even if it gets me killed or crashed or whatever... I -ALWAYS- make sure I say I'm sorry...

THe only exception to this is when the TK is an OBVIOUS accident, and I get an INSTANT punish... by that time, I"m usually typing out SORY... but I hit backspace and type F-YOU YOU FGT TK PUNISHER!!!!!

yes i would feel alot less ****ed off if people would build up the courtesy to press "q" then click sorry. i never punish unless i know it was a completely retarded and avoidable TK. but if they do sumthing as simple as saying sry then i press page up x 2 (okay)

I'm sure it'd be abused by intentional TKers but I always thought it'd be nice if by saying "Sorry" within 15 seconds, your victim would lose the option to Punish.

After all, if you've acknowledged it was an accident and you were thoughtful enough to apologise, then you're arguably a more considerate player than those who don't seem to give a damn either way.

Sure, it'd be open to abuse but ... the PTK system as it stands isn't exactly encouraging polite and considerate warfare.
