VIOP Problems (In-Game)

Hi,

I was in a server yesterday and used Voip for the first time. it worked fine- However I then joined another server after, with VOIP enabled. I joined a squad and wouldn't allow me to speak. I could hear others in my squad speaking but wouldn't allow me to. When I pressed the V or B key to speak I didn't even get the speak icon that is just under your map.

Have you any ideas what that could be??

VOIP is known to have issues.

Did you try disconnecting from BF2 altogether and then try reconnecting to that server and see if VOIP works then?

I'm willing to bet it's the way that server has VOIP set up and it doesn't agree with you in some way...it's picky

Well does anyone know about TS (Team Speak). Is this just for clans and firends or when you have that installed can you speak to everyone in your squad in BF?

It's a completely 3rd party app in that you and other people have to go out of your way to download, install, and connect to the TeamSpeak server.

So it's basically for clans and friends.

But some servers have a teamspeak server that you can connect to specifically for use on their BF2 server. But it doesn't automatically allow you to speak with your squad.

I think it might be that that specific server has a separate software for controlling options in BF2 and they may have VOIP disabled there even though it shows that its enabled INGAME.

Got ya, missed that part. I have a friend this happens to all the time. Never had it happen to me though. Seems like a setup problem.

I had this problem, just make sure your sound drivers are up to date, fixed it for me with the new ACU97 driver.

I got my mic after I had installed the game and never went thru the setup for voip.... Do I have to reinstall the game to get it to work?

i've noticed this myself. Some servers have the Voip enabled but it doesn't work at all. Others have it work sometimes for some people. The only servers out there I have found to always have Voip to work is the EA official servers. I have never had an issue on an ea official server with voip
