Freezing ?? Im Not Anymore ??

Cant explain why only thing seems different is that PB have had a few updates lately,all of a sudden utter smooth gameplay no lag except the usual 2 or 3 second pause at the beggining of each round which i can happily live with,from the start i suffered from random freezes lasting around 5 seconds which resulted in me 99% of the time dieing by crashing in a chopper/plane or just getting shot at,it never became unresponsive totaly just froze all the time,now i get a good game though my stats say otherwise :o

OMG! DUDE! I have the exact same problem! I've had it ever freakin since I built this PC. OMG, how did you fix it. I totally know what you're talking about, except mine lasted more like 10 secs. Yea, lol, dieing from a plane crash or a heli crash. The worst was when you were in a firefight and it froze, lol, couldn't do anything but wait to die.

Dude, what're your specs and how did you fix this?!

What-the-fvck?! What're you talking about? Me? I'm freakin serious. I HAVE this problem and I'm seriously thinking about throwing out my hard drive to fix it.

Same with my friend...he was freezing up and it just stopped as suddenly as it started.

It was punkbuster.

WOW. This happened to me ever since the demo.

How does Punkbuster only affect us though? Some type of hardware? I'm running Windows 2000Professional, could that be it?

He WAS running Windows 2K Pro..but he recently upgraded to Windows XP. He was having no problems with Windows XP until the same day everybody else started having the punkbuster complete freeze-up problem.

OK, so I guess Punkbuster fixed it :)

My pc specs are nothing in comparison to yours and since punkbuster has recently updated i think you should look into making sure yours is up to date i have tried everything to fix it except replace my pc then all of a sudden punkbuster update = smooth none freezing gameplay.

Look for a program called (i believe) punkbuster web (pbweb.exe)
its an updater program for punkbuster it will force an update it may help you.

BF2 isnt supposed to run on W2K??! Maybe you should upgrade that 1st, then your ram?? Why is it underclocked too??
