Problem! My screen gets covered with squares!!

So i will be playing a map and after a bit of playing out of no where my screen gets covered with squares all over and they are all neatly placed accross the screen and this only happens with BF2. In order for me to fix it as i know is to restart my computer if there is a way to stop this please tell! its the most annoying thing ever when your playing a really good round and the squares pop and its like a psychadelic show with squares and its very funky. Maybe i can post a picture of it.

My specs are:
AMD athlon 64 3500+
1gb RAM
256 Radeon X800XL Video card
Western Digital Raptor 74gb HD.

my settings are everything on high with antialiasing at x6 and view distance is at 100% and my resolution is at 1280 x 1024 same as my desktop.

First 2 things that come to mind:

1) excess heat...
2) try UNinstalling drivers...then fresh reinstall of newest 5.10's from ATI.

Do what the above person said, also try droping anti alising down to 4x, some people have had it when AA is set higher than 4 problemss occur
