It's good for playing games, IMO. 20ms refresh rate ain't that bad.

Then yours isn't the same. Mine is not the Vaio one. 20ms does suck when you compare it with the 12-8 ms monitors. However, the picture quality isn't that bad for an LCD and much better than the 12-8 ms monitors. Still CRT's look a hell of a lot smoother and better for games.

just a correction. 20ms is not refresh rate, it's response time. refresh rates are measured in Hz, such as 60Hz, 85Hz, 100Hz.

People use m203 because all the other infantry weapons are so weak and inaccurate. Bunnyhopping with grenlauncher seems to be more popular on bf2 these days..

If this game sinks to a level where everyone bunnyhops around with their 203 noob tube I'm gonna go play something else. Maybe a mod or SF although I did see a noob tube in a SF screenshot. If it's in there I wont by SF period.

hey, like i said in another post, there's no such thing as marquess of queensberry rules in BF2. if you wanna survive you gotta adapt, otherwise you can go play checkers on yahoo.

blingo! "improvise, adapt, and overcome..." or move on to checkers. i personally won't use the 203 but i understand the n00b who does. skills come with time and trying, and, unfortunately, some folks have neither. best not to b**ch and just keep fraggin'.

Sorry Shark but I think you will have a better chance of finding me in the "experience WW2 mod" or the "Forgotten Hope 2 mod".. In Americas Army the grenade launcher will not explode unless you have a range of about 20-30 meters. Even then you get the occasional "dud". DICE could easily change the grenade launcher to work like that. Or better yet give assault some other "unique feature" instead...

Its not just BF, the tube has had this sort of problem in most games that have included it. When it was first put in DC, it was a cannon. You could take out a hummer in one shot and seriously worry APCs. There was of course, the whoring.

After the complaints, damage was toned down and it wasnt a problem. Not a realistic way to do it, but it worked in terms of game balance. Its not realistic that it shouldnt kill in one shot, but its also not realistic that you can fire it pointblank and not have your face blown off.

I like the minimum distance idea, not sure how easy it is to implement, but there are mods working on changing the tube.

All in all, tube whoring is a very cheap tactic, which will get you points, but no respect.

Anyhow yep the 203, and 30, was IMHO built in BF2 the way it is for the peeps that can't be harassed to learn how to play the game. Must be the ones that get 1 for 1 .

Why do people insist on whoring the M203?

I was playing on Karkand for a few hours on the MEC team. Almost every single USMC soldier on the battlefield used the M203 to get their kills. Also, this other guy played on USMC for about 2 hours, and every single time i seen him, he was whoring APC's.

Why does it have to get so low?

I don't think soldiers in real life take a whole backpack full of M203 grenades to use constantly.

I remember playing BF2 when people didn't always use the M203. It just seems to be a new trend now.
