keyboard and mouse unresponsive in game

This just started happening today - I can join servers fine, but once i'm in the game, none of the buttons on my keyboard do anything, and the cursor is stuck in the middle of the screen. Pressing escape does not do anything, so to quit I have to alt-tab or alt-ctrl-delete to get out.

I played earlier today and it worked fine, and I have not changed anything since then. Can anyone help me with this?

Right........ before you join a server, goto options > controls. you will notice that there is no controls. Fill them all in then this should work.............

this happened to me the other day.

took me ages to figure it out then I realised that after one of those pesky crashes, all of my control settings had been wiped.

goto controls and reset them
