I have the sidewinder joystick and have no problems with it. I didn't even install the software. Just plugged it in to a USB 2.0 port (check and see if your USB is 2.0) and bam I was done. Calibrated it, and just went into controls and moved the joystick and I got it to work. If I were you mate check your USB and Reinstall the joystick.

I have the MS Sidewinder Precision 2... AMAZING stick..too bad they don't support or sell it anymore

I had a gameport version of an original MS Sidewinder Precision Pro...but I took it apart when it was starting to drift. Now, I can't get it back together again

But it did have a nice plate inside with the signatures of the dev team.

Hehehe, if you want old school, I've got an original game-port Sidewinder from the Mechwarrior 2 and Joystick bundle! I've got another game-port Sidewinder Precision Pro too that I picked up at a pawn store for next to nothing.

Both work fine in Battlefield 2, however I don't use them since I don't really fly jets at all.

I have the sidewinder pro (oldskool)... I was the 305th top pilot in the game last time I checked, probably be higher if I wasn't such a revive whore too.

Its all good :) nothing fancy, easy to manouver, there is a slight "Loose" spot in the centre though.

I havetried to switch USB ports, and I still can't get the sidewinder to change settings in the control panel on BF2... I dunno....

I have just been practicing with the mouse.. getting better by the minute...
