Hi,
I've been having a problem with VOIP during gameplay
I can get the first second of a message through but the rest is static (red symbol comes up meaning that no one else heard it). An example is saying 'Hi guys', Hi will be transmitted and everyone in my squad will hear it but 'guys' won't be heard by them. So holding the speak button, the comm signal goes green for about one second then the rest becomes red. Get the picture?
Now i've been fiddling around with the settings and i'm pretty sure the problem lies with me using the onboard sound on my motherboard. My motherboard is a ASUS A8N-E that has a Realtek AC'97 ALC850 Audio Codec that i use. Everything on my computer has the latest drivers, including my audio codec. But i want to be 100% sure that the problem lies with my onboard sound before i buy a proper soundcard, money is something i dont have alot of.
I can communicate with VOIP clearly in Counter-Strike:Source and can do the BF2VoiceTest and Mic test in the bf2 audio options without any problems.. it just doesnt work during bf2 gameplay.
Has anyone been using the Realtek onboard soundcard and been able to use the VOIP in BF2 during gameplay?
Thank you for reading this
EDIT by the way, i've read about other peoples voip problems but my problem seems to be kinda unique, that's why i created a new thread and not replied to one of those older threads... also, the last post on them are many months ago.
