BF2amp the cause of banning?!!!!

Ok, a few weeks ago I installed the BF2amp mod to listen to some music while playing. After testing it out on singleplayer it worked fine, I was happy to listen to some mp3's while playing. So I hop over to my favorite server and crank up the music, after a round or so, I was booted saying you have been banned for 2 mins PB detected hack. I'm like WTF?! So I get rid of the mod and reboot, sign in and all is well, have had no problems since. Today I sign in to a Ranked server and PB has banned me Permantly!!!

Too things I am super PO at, one that someone would release a mod that interferes with PB and the other is PB needs a better detecting system, to determine what mods your running. THIS IS BS

I don't think so, All was able to do was play winamp, Leviathon, I wasn't blaming PB but don't you think its BS that you can't install mods without worrying wether PB will ban you? If thats the case, why own the game, the mods were and still are one of the best things about the BF series

When the program was written by notorious hackers using some of the same code so that it would act as a shield for their hacks I don't think it's unreasonable to block the use of that program. (See the link Leviathon posted.)

Bad news for you, good news for us.
It means that Even Balance (Punk Buster) really did move quickly to get rid of that hack that everyone was moaning about. They did it fairly quickly too.

I wonder if all those guys that were crying about how this would never get fixed will have a little more faith in the future?

It means that Even Balance (Punk Buster) really did move quickly to get rid of that hack that everyone was moaning about. They did it fairly quickly too.

Welcome to the ****ed up world of PB banning. My BF1942 is useless 'cause I got banned for "multihack" and I never installed ****. They don't bother to find out if there was a hack or not, their buggy **** ****es up your life and it's your ****ing problem. They need to be class-action sued to provide Q/A on their ****ed up product.

Like above posters said, the BF2Amp was modified (planted) by ## on TotalBF2 so that if Punkbuster was ever to detect the ## hack, then all the users with BF2Amp would also get banned. There was a link posted to the ## hack website on the ea forums a while back and it was ON THEIR FRONT PAGE that they were using BFAmp to shield themselves from PB.

I'd post the name of the hacking group but we'd get too many people trying to go download these hacks.

After a lengthy converstion with a few people, those that have Teamspeak mod may want to get rid of it if they don't want the same thing happening, apperenty Punkbuster doesn't want anything running inside BF2 as far as memory addresses.
