Hello all, i'm about to goto my next rank, and hopefully i'll be unlocking a weapon! I'm just wanting to know, which one performs the best? As myself, I love to be the sniper, but I also enjoy being the assault and medic.. I rarely ever play as any other... But in your own opinions, which would be the best to unlock?

G36C seems to be a fav. The assault is good but only has twenty rounds and no nade launcher. -

My first unlock was the G3 thats the assault rifle. IMO it was the worst unlock and worse decision I made. My best decision is the Medic rifle L8. I forget the rest of the numbers after the 8 but ya, the medic one was the best for me. It all depends on which kit you feel comfortable with.Comment

"Best" is kinda like Neo's spoon... as in there is no.
It's a matter of taste more than anything else. Some folks will even argue that some unlocks don't preform as well as the standard weapons for certain kits.

Myself, I'd probably say the G63 (Special Forces)is the best unlock weapon overall, with the PKM (Support) and G3 (Assualt) close behind (even though the G3 has no grenade launcher, I find it kills real nice). The DAO (Anti-tank) is the best improvment to a kit, as the sub-machineguns really suck, but the DAO is a man eater.
The JackHammer (Engineer) is arguably the least useful unlock since it does less damage than the US and PRC pump shotguns and is only a slight imporvement over the MEC semi-auto shotgun. Even so, I've found it to be handy.
I suck at medic and sniper, so I haven't explored either unlock yet. Desipite what some folks say, the medic's unlock has the WORST accuracy of any assualt rifle. The snipers m95 (Barret) .50 cal is a mean SOB in real life, but it's limited by game mechanics here. It's less accurate than the US standard rifle and it does the same raw damage, but has better armour penatration. This means you will do the same about of damage to armored and unarmored classes as well as being able to shoot through walls and glass.

my first unlock was the G3 as well and I was disapointed. My second unlock was the medic L8 and that gun is a disapointment as well. though I like it better than the G3. it fires a small cal. bullet. sounds like I'm shooting a .22 and the scope blows. up close it works well but I find the scope to be a pin at distance.Comment

I find it just works for me. Something about the way it's shots spread, I think. I've taken snipers off of rooftops at long range, blasted 3 people in close quarters on total reflex, and can mow down advancing troops with ease.
The short clip takes some getting used to, tho. I found I really had to adapt my methods. Short, tight bursts ONLY! It's only resently that I've got it down well enough so I don't need to reload after every kill. Average burst is now down to 5 rounds and usually results in a kill.
As I say, it's a matter of taste. If you ask 5 BF2 players which is the best unlock, I assure you that you will get 6 different answers!Comment

If you unlock the DAO you will find the AT class is MUCH funner and more efective. I don't care much for the L85, I do much better with the stock medic guns. G36C is pretty good too.Comment

Despite of what he says, folks are right: L85 is very accurate. Snipers usually dont have a chance agaisnt you and your med packs.Comment

The L85A1, contrary to popular belief, is not the most accurate assault rifle. It has the least accurate rapid-fire/full auto assault performance, and the worst prone benefit. I guess I really can't say for certian. I have every unlock minus the Jackhammer, and I would say that the Assault G3 is the best in the game. You can take people down in 2-4 shots everytime, especially on single fire.
Not to disrespect the other people but I think they either have a crappy mouse, crappy system, or crappy skills, because I just don't see how anyone would say that the G3 isn't very effective, if not straight "uber".
Well my time here is up, hopefully I have helped with the situation.
Now I shall return back to the wonderful world of Call of Duty 2

DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM! I GOT THE L85A1 AND IT DOES THE IMPOSSIBLE: IT BOTH SUCKS AND BLOWS AT THE SAME TIME!
It'a like shooting a freaking .22... No, a .177. It's accuracy is LOWER than the M16A2 and the scope is a joke! Please, I beg you in the name of all that is dear to your heart, DO NOT get the L85A1!!Comment
