problem with .exe file

ok so ive got a problem with bf2. when i double click the bf2 icon the bf2 banner comes up ,but thats as far as it gets. then i get an error sayin theres a problem with the .exe file

im currently running with a radeon 9200, do u think this is the prob seein as the game wont go as far as full screen ? or is it somethin else

i have all latest drivers and patches

1 gig ram
radeon 9200

The 9200 is KNOWN to have issues. In fact, I don't think the chipset is even supported.

Anyway, I solved a similar problem with my friends 9200 by getting him to update his motherboard drivers and to ensure that at least AGP 4X is enabled and working properly.

ok, got the screen shot... also i forgot to mention that the BF2 demo ran perfectly on his pc

Yup had that problem at first when i had the 9200. What u have to do is go into ur setting and change it form 8x to 4x thats theonly way u will be able to play

checked out his settings and discovered his setting only go up to 4x,and theyre already set to it.. i guess the mobo doesnt support 8x

anymore ideas.... update his mobo drivers maybe ?

Update mobo drivers.

Otherwise, 4X AGP sometimes is not actually enabled and working.

The BIOS is usually where you set your AGP speed, yes.

Is DXDiag and go to the Display tab and see if 'AGP Acceleration' is enabled. If it isn't, then AGP 4X is not actually working properly and you'll need a motherboard chipset driver update.

I guess I would recommend any application that displays your current running AGP rate.

If these types of applications display your AGP rate correctly, then your problem may lie elsewhere.

ok, it says it supports 4x and 8x, but the actual speed is left blank????

And that's the problem..speed NEEDS to be showing for BF2 to work properly.

As I have said repeatedly..update your motherboard chipset drivers.
