RAID Controllers

I know this is not about Battlefield, but I figured some guys might be able to help me on here.

Whenever I log into my user area, I get 2 pop-ups about installing drivers for a RAID Controller. Firstly, what are RAID controllers? and secondly, how do I find out which drivers I need? Just had a search around google, but don't really understand much of what the sites are talking about!

The controller is your comp.
No what you are seeing all depends on what your user area is and what you have going on inside your comp. Is this you personal comp or a work comp. Do you have more than 2 Hard Drives? When did you start seeing this?
When you started seeing this what changed? (or what did you do different?)

The controller allows your comp to access the Array.
RAID is used for storing large amounts of data. There are several way to do it with RAID. I wouldn't worry about what RAID is, as so much why all of a sudden it is asking you about it.

So basically i need mroe details before i can give you a definitive answer.

Thanks for the quick reply mate.
It is a personal computer, and I just have the single hard drive. The driver install screens started coming up around 2 weeks ago I think, but I haven't changed anything as far as I can remember.

When I've finsished my current download, I'll reboot and get a screenie of it if that will help.

The reason Windows keeps nagging about drivers to the RAID controller is most likely that it is enabled in the BIOS. The BIOS is a small program that boots the PC and controls all the hardware on the mainboard.

There are 2 ways to get rid of the message. One is to disable the RAID controller in the BIOS and the other is to install the proper driver. In order to do that you need to find out what mainboard/motherboard you have and download a driver from the homepage of the motherboard manufacturer. If you have a HP, Compaq or Dell you should be able to find the correct driver on their homepage.
