    Audigy 2ZS + Logitech Z-5300's = which headphones?

I own a pair of cheap $20 Labtec headphones. They are crap. I cant hear anything behind me. I need a pair of headphones that will support EAX and 5.1. My Z-5300's work great but my gf goes to bed early so I need headphones because playing with low volume sux0rz!

Do the Senn HD-280's support 5.1 surround sound and EAX? I dont know much about headphones (stereo, closed, open, hifi, 51, etc..) so any help is appreciated.

Just buy a sennheiser they support almost anything and is the best company for making headphones at the moment.

I've always had great sound with my Creative Audigy ES and with sennheiser I can't improve the sound in BF2 much better.

no no no - dont get sennheiser- get medusa heaphones they are much cheaper and better. - dont get USB ones though, get ones that plug into your sound card

plugged into your audigy it will blow your socks off. When I got my medusa headphones when I heard the first artillery stike, I actually physically ducked !!!

here's the link to the main website and where to buy if you are in the uk, but theres often sets for sale on ebay

Wir bieten: Soundsysteme, Headsets, Mäuse, Mauspads, Tastaturen, Gamepads und Gaming Chairs sowie verschiedene IT-Zubehörteile, für Office oder Gaming.

I was thinking of the medusa but couldn't find one in Canada for a good price.

The LTB Platinum 5.1 phones I ordered seem extremely similar. I'll let you know what they're like. They come in 2 flavours: direct connect to sound card, and USB. I bought the direct connect version. But you can buy the USB module separately later. I may just do that if I ever want to use them on a laptop or another PC with a crap sound card.

if u have a decent soundcard such as audigy you shouldnt buy usb versions. you have to be careful with some of these so called 5.1 headphones as they only emulate 5.1 and are no where near as good

This is a true 5.1 headset. Check the link.

And yeah, I wouldn't buy the USB version unless I had no sound card or a crap sound card

Too late, I got the HD-280's for $90 at a music store today. Sweet cans, great sound.

                      EIDT:

I might be taking the HD-280's back. I dont like having to change my Audigy sound settings from 5.1 to headphones. The 280's are good but there simply isnt enough rich bass to accomodate all the explosions in bf2. Nice rich high and mids but not enough bass. Ill be looking into the Medusas and the Kinyos.

Well, the LTBs work great. True 5.1.

The only problem with them is that I get no bass in the rear channels. I'm trying to figure out a way to improve it using 'Bass Management'..but so far, nothing.

They sound very good overall though.

                        BUT...they don't beat my Logitech Z-5300 5.1 speakers when they're cranked

So I'm only going to put them on when the wife gets on my back

They sound GREAT for music and sound great with my digital drum kit (which is the real reason I bought them).

                        Pretty comfy too :)

Those are the ones I would have purchased if I knew of a reputable retailer that carried them here in Canada.

I'm sure you'll be pleased with them. But I have heard of a few units being shipped defective.
