sound quality poor?

hi guys, couldnt find my problem in the forum so..

Outside of bf2 the sounds are great, in game everything is okay except the speech, there is a cracking sound through it, like u get with a bad LP (for those that are actually that old like me)

really strange problem. I have it since my new system and using the on board soundcard(chip)

mobo = asus A8N sli deluxe
Graphics card = Asus geforce 7800 GTX

I run all settings on high and 4x AA.

Sound is on software and tried both eax off and on, no difference.

Anyone know of this problem?

You could try decreasing the wave volume in windows' sound mixer.

Otherwise, I'm just betting it's BF2 not liking on-board sound.

And you don't have bass/treble controls available to you in the 'Advanced' section of the mixer, right?

If you do, make sure they are set to default values...slider set to dead center.

I put the sliders in the middle now and the sounds are a lot better.
