Need help changing cd key

Hey guys, i installed my copy of bf2 on my friends pc. he has now bought his own copy, i know we can change the cd key with a registry editor. But i'm just checking with you guys incase you know what file the serial code will be in??

You gotta reinstall... You cant change the cd key entirely. There is a thing under Support to 're-enter' your CD is all.. We tried it with my laptop and we just geta CD Key Invalid. So just reinstall =/

with the v1.03 patch, the cd key is encrypted

you cannot regedit it

Or you could just take the CD key from the copy your friend bought. This smells of ********.

Smells of what mate? are you inplying that i'm dealin with pirate software?
LOL!! ffs everyone is too uptight, i installed it on my mates pc to see if he liked it, he did, i picked up his copy cos the shop is round the corner, i can't get it over to him to install for a few days, i just wanted to know if i could phone him his key so we could have a game.. LOL!

Then why not just for a few days swap cd-keys, u reinstall ur copy with his new cd-key and he stays with urs.

That way you can now play together on the same server.

you could also try the battlefield 2_code.exe in the support folder to change the key, and then use the bf2cdkeycheck.exe from 1.03 patch to encrypt the key in registry, I would assume.
