      I voted air cooling even though I have water cooling. The reason is it was a BIG HASSLE setting everything up. I ran into lots of problems and I still kind of regret getting it. I do appreciate the lower temps (especially on my vid cards) and less noise. I just don't think it was worth the hassle and the extra money. So it depends... I personally probably won't go liquid cooling next time... but I'll see maybe it'll grow on me.

          both have their ups and downs. Air is noisy but can usually acheive better results for less money.

          Liquid heats up as you add things onto it, but over all is more quiet and can hold temps down under load a lot better.

            Never liked the idea of having water next to all my expensive computer parts... I don't think i could afford to have my system leak. So I vote Air cooling, it's effective (though loud) and has far less risk.
            Dont they use non-conductive liquid so it wont wreck things if there is a leak?

              You're supposed to use distilled water which conducts very little electricity. But what you ACTUALLY supposed to do is to unplug the power cord of the PC, and turn on the watercooling. If there is a leak, you'll know about it. The components might get wet, but since there is no electricity going through, they won't be fried. After fixing the leak(s) you just need to make sure that all the water is cleaned up before turning on the PC again.

                    my room's temperature is 26 C, my amd64 3400 runs at 49 C, ny GeForce 6800 128 runs at 52 C and my system at 34 C who cares. I don't see the point of spending $250-$500 to have it run at 30C. I would rather take the money and put it into a better graphics card, cpu and memory and not into trying to squeeze a couple of other points by overclocking components.

                    Plus I've writeups where they compare a water cooled system to one that is optimized for air flow and optimal heat pipe heat sink and the difference is not much and not woth the expense nor hassle.

                    With my system I bought a programmable fan controller with numberous temperture probes and I have several cheap fans throughout the case optimizing airflow and running silently by running the fans really slowly.

                    I have a giant 120mm fan on the back blowing hot air out of my case. I have two (2) 80 mm fans pulling air into the bottom of the case across my hard disks. I have one (1) 80mm fan attached to the heatsink blowing air into the heatsink. I have another 80mm fan attached to the case that blows air into the the cpu from the outside of the case. I have another 80mm fan attached to the case blowing air into the video card from the outside of my case. I have yet another 80mm fan attached to my case blowing air from the outside of my case into the dead areas of my case. I have two 80mm fanes on the power supply. One blowing air into the power supply from the top of the case and another blowing air out of the power support. All these fans create a constant air flow across the conponents and keep my system w

                    All these fans and my machine runs almost dead quiet!. What a fan controller will do...

                    The great thing is I can be playing BF2 maxed out and my system's temperature barely goes up a couple of degrees.
