i have a 9800 pro 256 with a gig of ram and a 2ghz proccesser and i run all high with 2 aa and get 50 fps your eyesite is 30 fps so nething over 30 doesnt make much of a differance no we dont see in fps but our "refresh rate" is about that last i heard. i also play quake 4 on high fear high far cry and hl2 at max.

Check out Tiger Direct. I believe its tigerdirect.com. I use a Nvidia 5700 LE 256 Mbyte video card. It might not be the best but it works well. I think it falls within your orginal price range you stated at tigerdirect. I know it did a few months ago when I bought mine. Actually it was about 6 months ago maybe 8 months.

Hey, if you have a hard time identifying your video card slot. You could probably go to this http://www.cpuid.com/ and download cpu-z.
CPUID brings you system & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting quality softwares for your Windows & Android devices

This will tell you what type of graphic interface you have. If you have a 3.06Ghz Intel at 1 year old. I'm willing to bet that it uses an AGP slot.

A 6800GT, 1GB of RAM and a 3.06Ghz procesor should yield some nice eye candy.

For BF2 mulitplayer, you might wanna go with medium settings and the highest resolution that your monitor supports. I'm using 1280x1024 (lcd)

My system seem like it lags when using the high settings online, but plays great in single player with everything on high.

            I have a AMD Athlon 64 3200, 2x512 Corsair XMS and a Radeon X850 Pro 256MB

Don't know what price range is in those funny symbols, but it is about 280-300 dollars.

i got a geforce 7800gtx for 700 aussie dollars a while ago... i'm guessin that out of your price range (not good with converting currency rates)
but my friend has a 6800gt and it runs pretty well... although not as good as mine :)

WTF are you talking about? PCI great graphics cards don't exist? You need to really go back and check your logic. I will give you the benefit of the dought and hope that you were just talking PCI instead of PCI-E. Because I for one have a eVGA 6800GT PCI-E. I get well over 80 FPS and the damn card rocks! Not one bit of trouble and its also SLI compatible. I am holding off on SLI at the moment as I have heard that BF:2 it really doesn't make a huge difference. Next year? Ya maybe.
