Performance...

Hi all, I'm newbie here.

I just got BF2, and I must admit it's amazing; there's only one thing that disappoints me: the performances. I have the following configuration:

AMD64 3000+
1Gb RAM
120Gb HDD Maxtor
GeForce FX5500 256Mb

but I must run the game in 1024x768 with all LOW settings...any advice?

I'm guessing that it's the FX5500. On the official list of supported cards the 5700 is the lowest , though the 5500 will still run the game.

definately your video card, everything else is fine. I would suggest at least a 9800pro or FX5900 with 256mb of Vram.

I supposed it...pity...I just bought it...well I'll play with low settings for a while, till I can't buy a new one. Thanks to all...

Turn OFF dynamic lights and dynamic shadows for a performance boost. You might be able to turn up some other options as a result.

I've got the FX5950 Ultra 256. The best Nvidia card you could get for 2 years ago. I run everything on high, aa off, dynamic lightning medium, textures medium, light low. It's ok for me.
