Your Connection Has Been Lost.... Again

Ok im am having serious issues and i have narrowed it down to 2 things.

The update... all was well until i installed that F**ker. Has anyone else had connection issues after installing the update??

All of a sudden when i go into BF2 and i hit update servers, BF2 minimizes and norton internet worm protection F**king s**t comes up and askes me to permit or block it. I hit permit, and then it comes up again, LIKE 50 DAMN TIMES!!!! So i try to go into the norton options and add BF2 to the allowed programs list thing, and it STILL does it... so now im getting mad. I disable norton entirely, go into the taskmanager and shut down almost EVERYTHING, go into the game, i get no norton crap again, but, i could play for 6 minutes, and then BAM it freezes and goes back to the main menu "Your connection has been lost" sometimes i can play for half an hour, sometimes 5 seconds.. please help me FOR THE LOVE OF GOD

Ofcourse this isnt the answer to all problems but: get rid of Norton. Its a crap program and will harm your pc more than it will do it any good.

As for connection lost are you sure its only in BF2 or does your connection simply drop every so often? Could be that BF2 is abit more sensitive to these temp drops than other apps/games.

I just disable my Norton, but it still plays ok with it on I just don’t get as many servers.

Bear in mind that if someone wanted to hack your computer they would, with or without Norton. So just disable it and have fun.

"Your Connection Has Been Lost" can be due to the server shutting down.

How do you disable Norton? If you select that disable option from the Icon in the tray I dont actually see any processes dissapear. I seem to remember that it wont let you end process on some of the Norton processes either.

I had the exact same problem, even though ppl told me to look ar drivers etc i didnt think it was that, look through ur norton alowed list, make sure evrything is on exteme exceptence, eg the bf2 exe, the bf2 cd check and so on, in the end i had to take a step back and actually uninstall the lastest drivers for my modem, since doing that and playing around with my video drivers , i played for 2 hrs last night with no "connection to server lost" also i realised that my sysytem was over heating, and as a saftey percaution my pc was kicking me out to cool down! one other thing is your anti virus may have some kind of email protection etc that may kick in when u connect to bf2 servers
look at these things and elminate them one by one and you may have a solution! :) hope this helps lol i took 2 days of work to get bf2 working proper, ea can make great games but they dont know how to put them together :)
