i kno theres been probably tens of threads on 1.03 abotu the "invalid cd-key" error. yes i have that to. but under diffrent circumstances.
my WinXP user. "Luca" recently went retarded. eachtime i open it 50 errors comes up saying every .exe installed it corrupted. and i cant open a signle thing. not even add/remove program to unistall BF2.
so i took over my moms user...she never uses it. and named it "Luca 1.5" and on there all the .exe's work. and i ran BF2 and i got all the way to loading a server, then the "invalid CD-key" error poped up.
and ive been reading on many forums that this whole 1.03 error is because of 1.03 saving the cd-key on the regisrty of each user and i think its saved on the registry of my old user. not my new one. but i cant go into my old one to unistall BF2 and then re-install on my new user. so i said screw the old just re-installing. ill see what forums ahve to say. so i tried the whole.....
1. Go to Start>Run and type in regedit and click OK.
2. Find this key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2\ergc]
3. On the right hand side there should be something called (Default). Double-click or Right-click>Modify to open the Edit String window. Your CD-KEY should be in the Value Data box. If it is not, or if something else is there, replace it with your CD-KEY. (Do not use hyphens but use capital letters)
4. Close the registry editor.
5. Start the installer.
6. Select your language, then click Next. Stop, but do not close the patcher yet.
7. Go to Start>Run and type in %TEMP% and click OK.
8. A window will pop-up. Press F3 and search for BF2CDKeyCheck.exe and then run the .exe
9. Now close the patcher and start the game
and i got to the part where u press F3 and search BFSCDKEYcheck.exe...and it came up nowhere. i couldnt finmd it anywhere. so then i decided to manually go look for it. and its nowhere. so. im completlty stumped. can someone help me or direct me to a downlaod of ur BF2cdkeycheck.exe or send urs to me over msn and hopefully that will lead to me completing those 9 steps which hopefully will lead to the game working....plz
