    where can i find the fps on my computer?

    Open console in bf2 by pressing ~ (while ingame)

    The type in

    "renderer.drawfps 1"

    without quotes. FPS will then be displayed in the top corner of the game.

          i checked it out and i get 35.5/ 26.5 and it bounces around a lot. is that a good fps and is there any way the make it better?

                  Drop all your settings, and make sure your only running what you have to in the background.

                    I play with everything on full settings and max resolution - I get 58/18. Is that good and what is the significance of the second number ?

                              You should probably think about toning down some settings.. such as textures or geometry , lighting, or anti aliasing. And maybe the resolution. If you arn't comfortable on how good the game is playing. If you don't mind those frames then keep them up.
