Connecting to Account Server

Hello, I'm new here and I've had BF2 for about a week now; and loving it!

Yesturday however, I started the game up and it just hung for 20 or so minutes on the "Connecting to Account Server" screen, playing the music again and again and again! I thought it must be at EA/Dice's end, so thought nothing of it and played FEAR instead.

Now im off work tomorrow so hoped for a late night on BF tonight and a bit tomorrow daytime, but I still can't connect!

Im just patching the game on my 3rd reinstall today, I've fiddled with my Firewall (Zone Alarm) no end, and no luck.

Any Ideas?

Where abouts are you located, do you have any other people in your local area around you getting the same problem, if you are it could the possibilty that a certian accounts login server your directed too is down, wich is unlikely. Another is retracing your steps thinking of any possible software you have installed/updated lately or any hardware you have added to your Current configuration to the internet that could have caused BF2 to be blocked to the internet.

Thanks for the reply, but I feel a bit of a numpty now because it works!

I don't know how, but i've just had an awesome 5 or so rounds, I'm buzzing, but I've got some Lost episodes to get through before morning, and its 3.10am now :laugh:

On occassion it seems the account server hangs. Just re-start your game/computer and it should be alright.
