    graphics/video settings experts, help!

    what causes this?:

another screenshot showing the same thing:

it feels like the rest of the map hasn't been loaded yet. like, it only loads the area within a few feet around me. and the worst part is this happens the whole time! it'd be OK if this is just a one-time thing. but no, it happens everytime in every round!

what can i do to change this? is it because of my video settings?:

    or my video card/specs?:

or is this happening to everyone else (especially jet pilots)? if it is not, then, any help would be appreciated.

    thanks!

Prepare yourself for this...sigh...nothing is wrong with it, what your pointing at is the engines draw distance and that is all the engine is capable of, and unfortunately it sucks ass.

And don’t you love how they try to compensate for it’s weakness by using a lame “fog of war” effect…..cheap smoke and mirrors (literally)

u know, there is a program out there with leet hax that will get rid of that fog/draw distance limit.

          itll cost ya $20.

show me one GFX engine that has large outdoor area, good graphics, and does not use fog of war.

also it's your graphic setting problem,, try to do this

turn off dynamic lightning and shadow
and turn up geometry to high.

I agree, turn geometry up to high.

But it won't affect that finite draw distance.

                It sucks..I know

The fog in bf2 is annoying - I have geometry on ultra - high as well as the other settings and Its still a problem

I thought Far Cry was really awesome at that, even if it DOES have draw distance, it's really far.

Actualy a while back in mods section, some guy took the fog off and you could see everything, it was really quite amazing. I'm not joking either.
